The rituals performed on this day are considered Parvan Shradhas, and the most propitious time to conduct them falls within the Kutup Muhurat and extends till the end of the Aparahna Kala. At the conclusion of the Shradh, a ritual called Tarpan is performed, symbolizing the offering of water to the departed souls.
