How do I know it's done for my ancestors?
We use the ancestor details (names, gotra) provided by you during the rituals, which is often mentioned by the priest. The video and photo evidence clearly document the ceremony being performed as requested.
Who performs the Pind Daan? Are they qualified for Gaya?
The rituals are performed by experienced Hindu priests (Pandits/Purohits/Gayawal Pandas in Gaya) who specialize in Shraddha ceremonies and are knowledgeable about the specific procedures required at holy sites like Gaya.
What details about my ancestors do you need?
Typically, we need the names of the ancestors for whom Pind Daan is to be performed, family Gotra (if known), and relationship to you. Specific Tithi (lunar day of death) is helpful but not always mandatory. We will clarify this during consultation.
Can Pind Daan be done anytime?
While Pind Daan can generally be performed throughout the year (except for a few inauspicious periods), doing it during Pitru Paksha or on the death anniversary Tithi holds special significance. Performing it at Gaya is considered beneficial anytime.

You will need to provide: (1) the full name of the departed, (2) their gotra (lineage/family clan name), (3) the nakshatra (birth star) if known, (4) the date and tithi of passing, (5) your own name and gotra as the performer, and (6) your WhatsApp number with time zone. If the gotra or nakshatra is unknown, our Pandit can guide you through an alternative Sankalp procedure — this is not unusual and will not invalidate the ritual.
After every Pind Daan ceremony performed by Prayag Pandits, you receive: (1) a full set of photographs from the ceremony showing the ghat, the materials, and the pandit performing the ritual; (2) a video recording of key moments including the Sankalp recitation; (3) a written summary noting the date, location, pandit's name, ancestors included in the Sankalp, and rituals performed; and (4) a formal certificate of ceremony completion upon request. This documentation is particularly valuable for NRI families who wish to share the record with extended family members in India.
It is never too late. The scriptures do not impose a time limit on Pind Daan. Families who have missed performing the ritual for years or decades can still have it done — our pandits will include a specific supplementary prayer (prayashchitta sankalpa) acknowledging the delay and seeking the blessings of the departed soul. This is a common situation for NRI families and we handle it with complete sensitivity and proper Vedic procedure.
