Frequently Asked Questions
Prayagraj is home to the Triveni Sangam — the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati rivers. According to the Matsya Purana and Padma Purana, performing ancestral rites at this sangam during Pitrupaksha liberates the souls of ancestors from the cycle of rebirth. Prayagraj is one of the four sites of the Kumbh Mela and has been a centre of Hindu pilgrimage for millennia.
Yes, our Prayagraj packages include a private boat ride to the Triveni Sangam where the main Pind Daan ritual is performed. The boat takes you to the exact confluence point in the river. Our pandit accompanies you on the boat and performs the complete ceremony at the sangam. Return boat ride is also included.
Gaya is traditionally considered the foremost site for Pind Daan, specifically mentioned in the Garuda Purana. Prayagraj is the second most important site, revered for the Triveni Sangam. Both are highly effective for ancestral rites. Prayagraj is often preferred by devotees from North India due to better connectivity, lower costs, and the added spiritual benefit of the three-river confluence. Many families perform at both locations.
You do not need to bring any special documents. All puja samagri (ritual materials) is provided by us. Just bring: (1) Names and gotras of the ancestors for whom Shradh is being performed, (2) The tithi (lunar date) of their passing if known, (3) Clean clothes to wear during the ceremony (dhoti/saree preferred but not mandatory). Our pandit will guide you through every step.
Yes, Pind Daan and Shradh can be performed for multiple ancestors in a single ceremony. Our pandits commonly perform rites for parents, grandparents, and other departed family members together. During Pitrupaksha, each tithi corresponds to specific relationships, but on Sarva Pitru Amavasya (the last day), rites for all ancestors can be performed collectively. There is no additional charge for including multiple ancestors in one ceremony.
