The complete Narayan Nagbali (combining both rites) is associated with Trimbakeshwar because the Nagbali component is restricted there per Dharma Sindhu, Skandha Purana (Sahyadri Khanda), and Padma Purana (Uttara Khanda). The Narayan Bali component alone can be performed at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Gaya, and other major tirthas.
