While Pind Daan can be performed any day at Varanasi, the most potent periods are: Pitrupaksha (Sep 26 – Oct 10 in 2026), any Amavasya (new moon day), and the death anniversary tithi of the ancestor. The morning hours from sunrise to approximately 10 AM are the most auspicious time of day.
