All Pind Daan

How long does a Pind Daan ceremony typically take?

Answered by Prakhar Porwal ·

A standard Pind Daan ceremony performed at a single sacred city typically takes between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on the number of ancestors being included in the Sankalp, the specific city’s local tradition, and whether additional elements like tarpan and brahmin feeding are included. Ceremonies at Gaya, which cover multiple vedis (ritual spots), may take a full day for the complete Pitrupaksha rites. We discuss the expected duration during the pre-ceremony consultation and ensure you have adequate time allocated in your schedule.
