Is Purnima Shradh part of Pitrupaksha or separate?

Purnima Shradh (Bhadrapada Shukla Purnima) technically falls one day before Pitrupaksha’s Krishna Paksha begins, but it is universally observed as the opening rite of the ancestral fortnight. The Dharmasindhu confirms that while it falls in Shukla Paksha, its merit and purpose align fully with Pitrupaksha observances.
