Who should perform the Panchami Shradh — son, daughter, or any family member?

Traditionally, Shradh is performed by the eldest son of the family. However, the Dharmashastra texts also allow daughters, sons-in-law, nephews, and other direct descendants to perform the ritual when the son is unavailable or has passed away. The key requirement is genuine devotion and proper ritual procedure.
