Can daughters and women perform Asthi Visarjan in Varanasi?

Vedic scriptures permit daughters, daughters-in-law, wives, and other female relatives to perform Asthi Visarjan when a son is unavailable or when the daughter chooses to honour her parents herself. The ritual’s spiritual efficacy is identical regardless of the performer’s gender, provided the correct gotra, sankalpa, and mantras are invoked.
