The online option via WhatsApp or Zoom is fully valid from a Vedic perspective when the devotee participates actively in the Sankalp — the formal declaration of intent that personalises the ritual to your family. Your name, gotra, and the names of your departed ancestors are recited during the Sankalp, establishing the direct spiritual connection regardless of your physical location. This option is especially popular with NRI families and those who cannot travel on short notice.
