Ashtami Shradh during Pitru Paksha is a separate observance from Durga Ashtami (during Navratri) or Shiva Ashtami fasts. However, the eighth tithi shares Shaiva and Shakta spiritual energy across all its manifestations. Performing a brief Shiva temple visit on the morning of Ashtami Shradh is considered auspicious and complementary to the ancestral ritual.
