What food should be offered to Brahmins during Tritiya Shradh bhoj?

Answered by Prakhar Porwal ·

The Brahmin bhoj during Tritiya Shradh typically includes sattvic (pure vegetarian) food: rice, urad dal, seasonal vegetables, ghee-laden puri or roti, kheer (rice pudding), and seasonal fruits. Garlic, onion, and masoor dal are traditionally avoided. The food should be freshly prepared, offered first to the ancestor (through the Brahmin), and then distributed as prasad. At Prayagraj, the Brahmin bhoj is arranged by the pandit performing the ceremony at the Sangam ghat.
