What if I don’t know whether my ancestor died naturally or not?

If you are uncertain, perform the Shradh on Sarva Pitru Amavasya (October 10, 2026), which is the universal day covering all ancestors. If you later determine that the death was indeed unnatural, you can perform Chaturdashi Shradh in a subsequent year’s Pitru Paksha.
