Which deaths are considered Akal Mrityu in Hinduism?

Hindu dharma recognises several categories of Akal Mrityu: accidental death (road accidents, drowning, falls), suicide (atmahatya), murder, death by poisoning, death by snake bite or venomous creatures, death during pregnancy or childbirth, infant death, and death due to sudden illness or epidemic. All of these are deaths that occur unexpectedly, cutting short the soul’s natural journey.
