Yes, Asthi Visarjan can be performed after 1 year, 5 years, or even decades after cremation. While the 10-day window is ideal, scriptures recognise that circumstances often prevent immediate immersion. For significantly delayed cases, the ceremony is typically combined with Shraddha (annual ancestral offering) and Pind Daan to fully resolve the delayed observance. The ashes, if preserved correctly in a clean urn or container, remain spiritually valid for the immersion.
