What information do I need to provide before the ritual?

We need: (1) Name of the departed person, (2) Gotra (ancestral lineage) — if unknown, we can use saamaanya vidhi, (3) Date of passing (approximate is fine), (4) Relation to the deceased, (5) Your name and contact number. For Pind Daan, we also ask whether any Pind Daan has been performed previously for this individual, and at which location. This helps us choose the correct ritual procedure.
