Can I bring my parent’s ashes from Canada to India for immersion?

Yes. Canadian law permits taking cremated remains abroad. The ashes should be in a sealed container, and you should carry the death certificate and cremation certificate. Most airlines accept cremated remains as carry-on luggage — confirm with your airline. Indian Customs allows import of cremated remains for religious purposes. Alternatively, our online Asthi Visarjan service is available for families who cannot travel.
