Can I perform Maha Bharani Shradh at home, or must I go to a tirtha?

While any sincere observance is valid, the scriptures are clear that performing Maha Bharani Shradh at a sacred tirtha — especially a confluence of sacred rivers — maximises the benefit. The Triveni Sangam at Prayagraj is the most accessible major tirtha for most families. If travel is not possible, performing Tarpan at a local river with Ganga Jal added to the water, combined with a sincere Pind Daan at home under pandit guidance, is the recommended alternative.
