How many types of Shradh are there?

The Vishwamitra Smriti and Bhavishya Purana together enumerate twelve types of Shradh: Nitya (daily), Naimittika (occasion-specific), Kamya (desire-fulfilling), Vriddhi or Nandi (for auspicious occasions), Parvana (annual death anniversary), Sapindan (uniting the soul with ancestors), Goshthi (group performance), Shuddhyartha (purification), Karmanga (part of a larger sanskara), Daivika (for deities), Yatrartha (before a journey), and Pushtyartha (for prosperity). The Matsya Purana simplifies these into three categories while the Yama Smriti identifies five.
