Yes. In Vedic tradition, the Sankalpa (the ritual intention) is the most crucial part of any ceremony. When our Pandits perform the Sankalpa using your name, gotra, and prayer, the spiritual connection is established and the merit is directed to you. The scriptures allow for rituals to be performed through a representative (pratinidhi).
