What happens if Pind Daan is not performed?

According to the Garuda Purana and Vayu Purana, a soul for whom Pind Daan has not been performed remains in a state of hunger and incompletion in Pitru Loka. This may manifest as Pitru Dosha affecting the family. The good news is that Pind Daan can be performed any time — even years or decades after a death. There is no time limit in the scriptures. If your family has not performed Pind Daan for any ancestor, it is never too late.
