What is Pitru Dosha, and can Pitrupaksha rituals remedy it?

Pitru Dosha is the astrological and spiritual condition believed to arise from unsatisfied ancestors — typically due to incomplete last rites, premature death, or lack of regular Shradh over generations. Its effects are described as persistent family difficulties: health problems (especially in children), financial obstacles, and delays in marriage or conception. Performing complete Shradh during Pitrupaksha — especially Pind Daan at a powerful tirtha — is the primary Dharmashastra remedy for Pitru Dosha. For severe cases, additional specialized rites (Narayan Bali, Tripindi Shradh) may be recommended by a pandit.
