Where exactly in Gaya is Shradh performed?

उत्तर दिया Prakhar Porwal ·

Shradh in Gaya is performed at multiple sacred vedi sites, each with specific scriptural significance: (1) Vishnupad Temple — the primary site where Vishnu’s footprint is located, main Pind Daan and Shradh conducted here, (2) Phalgu River — for Tarpan (water offerings), considered the river of ancestors, (3) Akshaya Vat — the eternal banyan tree where Sita is believed to have offered Shradh for Dasharatha, (4) Preta Shila — the rock where wandering souls are specifically liberated, (5) Ramakund — named after Lord Rama, (6) Surya Kund — for Surya-based ancestral invocations, (7) Brahma Yoni — for cosmic ancestral purification, (8) Bodhi Vriksha area — the Buddha connection adds later sanctification. A complete Gaya Shradh visits 3-5 of these vedis in a prescribed sequence over 1-3 days. Our Gayawal Pandas coordinate the correct vedi sequence based on your ancestral specifications.
