Common questions
Do we need to travel to Prayagraj?
No. This is an online service. You join by video while the ceremony takes place at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
How and where do we send the ashes?
The package includes receiving coordination, the receiving address and confirmation of arrival. Please speak with the team before sending the ashes. Pack them carefully in a plastic container and seal it with tape. Place the container in the centre of an empty cardboard box and cushion it on all sides with pieces of thermocol until it is held firmly in place. Add more thermocol over the top, then close, tape and seal the box securely for transit. Write the complete receiving address we have sent you, along with your sender’s address, clearly on clean white paper. Hand the package to the courier service we suggested.
How do we join the video call?
The pooja is conducted as it would be if you were physically present; you take part through a video call and can speak with and hear pandit ji at the ghat. We normally use a browser-based video platform. No app installation or login is needed; just enter your name to join. Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp may be requested for live participation without a recording.
Will we receive a recording?
Yes. A recording is included when you join through our preferred browser-based platform and is delivered within 72 hours of the ceremony. Zoom, Google Meet and WhatsApp calls do not include a recording.
Is Tarpan included?
No. Tarpan is not included in this package.
How does the online service work?
Book the pooja for your preferred date and time slot. You will receive confirmation by email. The package includes a pre-ceremony consultation, receiving-address coordination and confirmation that the ashes have arrived; speak with the team before sending them. The coordinator contacts your family 24 hours before the ceremony, shares the video meeting link and coordinates with you and pandit ji. At the confirmed time on your booked day, pandit ji and a pratinidhi, who sits on your behalf as your representative, begin the pooja on the video call with the samagri and arrangements ready at Triveni Sangam.
What will we pay?
The total shown in the booking area includes applicable tax and all services listed in the package inclusions. There are no hidden charges for the listed services; extra charges apply only outside those inclusions. Courier or shipping charges, any applicable international customs duties and separately requested services are excluded. Please ask about the amount before requesting anything additional.
What does the package include?
The package covers pandit ji’s charges, pooja materials, arrangements and the pratinidhi’s charges. It includes an experienced Prayagraj pandit, Sankalpa with family and ancestor names, receiving coordination, live participation and a pre-ceremony consultation. A recording is included when you use our preferred browser-based platform.
When can the ceremony take place, and how long does it take?
The ritual takes approximately 45–60 minutes. Poojas usually begin from 6 am, with the last pooja starting between 2 and 3 pm. The ceremony must finish before sunset.
Can our family join the ceremony?
Yes. You may invite as many family members as you wish by sharing the video meeting link with anyone who wants to join. Please ask them to keep their microphones off so background noise does not disturb the pooja.
Can we arrange daan or a donation ceremony?
Please tell us in advance if you would like a donation ceremony. Our ground team makes the arrangements for Brahmin Bhoj, Vastra Daan and Anna Daan; you only need to participate through live video conferencing. Contact us beforehand for the details and any additional charges.
Can we request a pandit who speaks our language?
In Prayagraj, we currently have pandits who speak Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Odia. For any other language, please contact us in advance to enquire; this does not confirm its availability. Pandit availability may change, and must be confirmed in advance. Please note that the full ritual vidhi is not performed in your native language.
How many deceased people does one booking cover?
One booking covers Asthi Visarjan for one deceased person.
Are separate photographs or video clips included?
No. Separate photographs and video clips are not included.
When will the coordinator contact us?
After booking, our team stays in touch with updates. The coordinator contacts your family 24 hours before the ceremony, shares the video meeting link and manages the live video pooja, coordinating with you and pandit ji throughout.
Do we need pooja items at home?
Home pooja items are optional, and you can join without them. If you can, keep the items listed in the next answer with you; otherwise, everything is arranged at the ceremony location. Please participate wholeheartedly, with respect and love for the departed. Your participation is what matters most.
Which optional items can we keep ready?
You may keep Gangajal in a glass, 1 tablespoon of black sesame, 1 tablespoon of uncooked rice or akshata, and a clean plate or thali. These home items are optional. Pandit ji arranges everything else and performs the pooja with the pratinidhi at the ground or ghat area at Sangam.
What should we wear?
New or clean white or light-coloured traditional clothes are recommended, but not required. Men may wear a white dhoti, gamcha and baniyan, or a white kurta and pyjama. Women may wear a plain, light-coloured saree or salwar kameez; white is preferred.
Is the ceremony private for our family?
Pandit ji performs the ceremony privately for your booked family. We do not provide group pooja services.

The ceremony at Triveni Sangam
Asthi Visarjan is the immersion of a departed person’s ashes in sacred water. For many Hindu families, it is a time for remembrance and prayer. This service takes place at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
The pandit conducts Sankalpa with the family and ancestor names and performs Asthi Visarjan. The listed samagri is included: sesame, Gangajal, flowers, incense and lamps.

The package includes coordination for receiving the ashes, including the receiving address and confirmation of arrival. Please speak with the team about the receiving arrangements before sending them.
Courier or shipping charges from your city are separate. International customs duties, where applicable, are also outside the package. The pre-ceremony consultation gives you an opportunity to discuss your situation and any questions about the service.

Join the ceremony through our preferred browser-based video platform. No app installation or login is needed—simply enter your name to join. You join remotely while the pandit performs the rite at Sangam. Physical travel to Prayagraj is not included in this online package.
Your meeting recording is included when you use our preferred browser-based platform and is delivered within 72 hours of the ceremony. Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp may be requested for live participation without a recording. Separate photographs and video clips are not included.
