How far is Haridwar from Rishikesh and can both be visited in a single trip?

Haridwar and Rishikesh are approximately 24 km apart, easily combined in a single trip. Many pilgrims spend 1-2 days in Haridwar (Ganga Aarti, temple circuit, Tarpan at Har ki Pauri) and then travel to Rishikesh (Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, ashram visits). The journey between them takes about 45-60 minutes by road. Both cities together form an ideal 3-4 day Uttarakhand pilgrimage base.
