Is it safe to bathe in the Ganga at Haridwar during monsoon season?

Bathing in the Ganga at Har ki Pauri during monsoon (July-September) carries real risks. The river can rise rapidly due to rainfall in the Himalayan catchment area. NDRF personnel are stationed at the ghats and will prevent bathing when levels are dangerous. If you visit during monsoon, follow all safety advisories strictly, do not enter the river during high-flow periods, and participate in the aarti and darshan from the designated safe areas.
