Where exactly in Gaya is Tarpan performed?

The primary and most sacred location for the Tarpan in Gaya is the banks of the Phalgu River. Specific ghats (steps leading to the river) are designated for these rituals. Tarpan is often performed standing in pits dug into the sandy riverbed to reach the underground water.
