Ensure a dignified and seamless Asthi Visarjan for your loved one at Prayagraj’s holy Triveni Sangam with our premium Platinum Seva Package. This all-inclusive offering handles every detail and includes: complete rituals by an expert Pandit, a private boat at Sangam, a luxurious 4-star hotel stay, and a dedicated AC cab for all transportation, including airport/station transfers. We manage all logistics so you can focus on the sacred rites in absolute comfort and peace of mind.
Losing a loved one is among the heaviest experiences life brings. In the midst of grief, the responsibility of performing their final rites with proper Vedic tradition falls on the family — and that responsibility deserves to be carried with both devotion and dignity. The Platinum Seva Package for Asthi Visarjan at Prayagraj is designed for families who want every detail handled with care, so that you can focus entirely on prayer, remembrance, and farewell.
This is our most complete offering — 4-star accommodation, private air-conditioned transport, a learned Vedic pandit, and a private boat to the Triveni Sangam. From the moment we receive your call to the moment you depart Prayagraj, every arrangement is our responsibility.
Prayagraj holds a distinction unmatched by almost any other tirtha in the Hindu tradition. It is here that three sacred rivers meet — the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati — forming the Triveni Sangam, a confluence that the scriptures describe as the mouth of liberation itself.
The Garuda Purana, which is the primary Vedic text governing the rites of death and the journey of the soul, states that immersion of the mortal remains at a sacred tirtha — and especially at a rivers’ confluence (sangam) — releases the soul from the cycle of rebirth. The meeting of three rivers is considered especially potent because each carries a distinct sacred energy: the Ganga purifies all sin, the Yamuna bestows devotion and grace, and the Saraswati — flowing invisibly beneath the earth — represents the hidden wisdom that guides the soul onward into liberation.
When ashes and bones (asthi and phool) are immersed at Triveni Sangam with proper Vedic mantras, the act is not merely ceremonial. It is believed to complete the soul’s transition, dissolving the last bonds to the mortal body and freeing the spirit from whatever karma remains. This is why families travel from across India — and from abroad — to perform Asthi Visarjan at Prayagraj specifically, even when the cremation has taken place in their home city.
For a detailed understanding of the scriptural basis and the full ritual procedure, read our complete guide: Asthi Visarjan Poojan — All You Need to Know.
Every element of this package has been selected with one principle in mind: nothing should distract you from your grief and your prayers. Logistics, coordination, and ritual preparation are entirely our responsibility.
Your journey begins the moment you land in Prayagraj. Our driver will receive you at the airport or railway station and take you directly to your hotel. There is no need to worry about finding transport, negotiating fares, or locating the ghat on your own.
After checking in and resting from your journey, our pandit or a senior coordinator will come to meet the family. This pre-ceremony conversation is unhurried and private. The pandit will explain the sequence of rituals, note the gotra and name of the person who has passed, discuss which specific rites apply based on their age and circumstances, and answer any questions your family may have. If you wish to include Pind Daan or additional Shraddha rituals on the same day as the Asthi Visarjan, this is the moment to discuss it.
The evening is yours to spend as you wish — in quiet prayer, in a visit to one of Prayagraj’s ghats for darshan, or simply resting. The team will confirm final arrangements for the following morning before departing.
The ceremony begins at the river. You will be taken to the ghat in your private vehicle, where a private boat will be waiting. The pandit accompanies you on the boat to the confluence point.
The ritual follows the Vedic procedure set out in the Garuda Purana. It begins with Sankalp — a formal declaration in which the head mourner states their gotra, their relationship to the deceased, and their intention. This is followed by Tarpan, the offering of water mixed with sesame seeds and flowers to the ancestors. Then comes Pind Daan, the offering of rice balls to nourish the soul on its journey, and finally the Asthi Visarjan itself — the immersion of the ashes and bones into the sacred waters.
Throughout the ceremony, the pandit chants the appropriate mantras from the Garuda Purana and the Pitru Paksha rituals, ensuring the rite is performed with full scriptural accuracy. The ceremony typically takes between 45 minutes and one hour.
After the immersion, your family returns to the ghat. Time is given to bathe or wash hands, change if needed, and collect yourselves before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Checkout and all departure transfers follow at whatever time suits your travel plans.
Many families who have never witnessed a proper Asthi Visarjan ceremony feel anxious about what to expect. This is completely natural. Here is a clear account of what takes place.
The boat moves from the ghat out into the river, towards the point where the confluence becomes visible — a place where the darker waters of the Yamuna and the lighter waters of the Ganga are seen meeting. At this point, the pandit begins the Sankalp. Everyone on the boat falls quiet. The mantras, chanted in Sanskrit, create a profound stillness that many families describe as unexpectedly comforting.
The family members who wish to participate in the Tarpan and Pind Daan are guided by the pandit, one step at a time. Nothing is rushed. The sesame seeds and water are offered to the river with each mantra. The rice balls are prepared and offered. Then the vessel containing the ashes is opened, and the family together — or the designated head mourner — gently lowers the ashes into the water.
The ashes disperse into the current of the Sangam. The pandit chants the final verses of the Garuda Purana, asking for the soul to be received in peace and granted liberation. Flowers are floated on the water. An earthen lamp is lit.
Most families find this moment deeply moving — and also deeply releasing. The ceremony gives grief a proper form, a proper ending, and a proper beginning for what comes next.
A little preparation before the journey makes everything smoother. These points apply regardless of which package you choose.
We understand that families travel with different budgets and different needs. That is why we offer three tiers of the same service.
The Gold Seva Package at Rs. 19,999 offers 3-star hotel accommodation and the same private transport, private boat, pandit, and samagri. It is the most popular choice among families who want a comfortable, well-organized experience without the premium price point.
The Silver Seva Package at Rs. 17,999 includes clean, verified homestay accommodation and covers all the core elements of the ceremony with the same experienced pandit and complete samagri.
In all three packages, the ritual is identical. The pandit, the mantras, the samagri, the private boat, the Triveni Sangam — these are the same. The only differences are in the quality of the hotel and the vehicle. The spiritual merit of the ceremony does not vary by budget.
The standard Platinum package accommodates up to 6 family members on the boat and in the vehicle. If your group is larger, please mention this when booking — we will arrange an additional boat and a larger vehicle. There is no spiritual reason for any family member to be turned away from witnessing the final rites.
Yes, and many families do. Pind Daan at Triveni Sangam, Tripindi Shraddha, and Narayan Bali can all be performed during the same visit. If you wish to combine rituals, please let us know when booking so the pandit can allocate the appropriate time and prepare the additional samagri. There may be a supplementary charge depending on the specific rites.
Completely acceptable. The Garuda Purana does not prohibit delayed Asthi Visarjan. What matters is that the rite is performed with proper mantras and sincere intent, not that it happens within a fixed number of days. Many families living abroad or in distant cities perform the immersion months or even years after the passing. The spiritual merit is the same.
Amavasya (new moon day), the entire Pitrupaksha fortnight (especially Mahalaya Amavasya), and Makar Sankranti are among the most auspicious tithis for Asthi Visarjan and Shraddha rites. During Pitrupaksha particularly, dates fill up quickly — please book well in advance if you wish to perform the ceremony on one of these days.
No formal document is mandatory for the ceremony. However, carrying a copy of the death certificate is advisable, as local ghat authorities may occasionally request it. We handle all ghat permissions and access arrangements on your behalf.
Yes. If your plans change or you decide you would like to upgrade your accommodation and transport, contact us as early as possible and we will adjust the booking subject to availability. The ceremony date need not change.
