An annual Shradh is observed on the lunar tithi remembered by the family. If the English date of passing is known but the tithi is not, share the available details and ask the pandit for guidance. The exact vidhi follows the family tradition and the package selected.
Pitru Paksha 2026 is observed from 26 September to 10 October. Families who know the corresponding tithi may choose that day. When the exact tithi is not known, Sarva Pitru Amavasya may be considered with proper guidance. Booking the chosen tirtha early allows the family to prepare calmly.
Tripindi Shradh is a separate ceremony. It is not included in a standard Shradh Puja package and should be chosen only when the need has been clearly understood through family or pandit guidance. A dedicated Tripindi package should be reviewed instead of assuming it is part of a general booking.
Telling the rites apart
Tarpan, Pind Daan and Shradh belong to the same field of ancestral rites, but one name should not be used to promise every ceremony. Tarpan is the prescribed offering of water and other named materials. Pind Daan is the offering of pindas. A Shradh Puja package may include one or both when the product inclusions say so.

The Gaya package is for families choosing the Vishnupad or Phalgu-area tradition. It includes an authorised Gayawal priest, the listed Shradh ceremony, complete samagri and local guidance. The current package treats dedicated Pind Daan, Tarpan and Brahmin Bhoj as separate add-ons, so these should be added only when they are intended.
The Prayagraj package is performed at Triveni Sangam with an experienced local pandit. Its listed scope includes complete samagri, Tarpan, the named Pind offering and a family-specific Sankalp. Travel, accommodation and separate rites such as Tripindi Shradh remain outside the package.
The Varanasi package is for families who have chosen Kashi beside the sacred Ganga. The product lists a Kashi-trained pandit, complete samagri, Tarpan, the named Pind offering and a Sankalp with family and ancestor names. Travel and dedicated remedial rites are separate.
The Haridwar Shradh ceremony is arranged at a Ganga ghat with an experienced local pandit. The listed package includes samagri, Tarpan, the named Pind offering and pre-ceremony guidance. Travel, accommodation, transportation and separate remedial rites are not included.
Garh Ganga is available for families whose tradition or preference leads them to Brij Ghat at Garh Mukteshwar. The product page shows the current package price and the complete ceremony scope before payment.

Why the rite is kept
The word points toward remembrance offered with shraddha—sincere faith and reverence. The Skanda Purana’s Nagara Khanda explains that sincere faith gives Shraddha its name. A family may therefore approach the rite quietly and with understanding, without fear or hurried promises.
