For Hindu families living abroad
Online Asthi Visarjan allows your family to arrange this final rite when travel to India is not possible. After the Asthi Kalash has been received through a confirmed arrangement, a local pandit prepares the Sankalp and performs the immersion at your chosen tirtha while your family joins via live video conferencing.

The Asthi Kalash must still reach the selected tirtha, and the immersion is performed there in the flowing sacred water. The online arrangement helps a family abroad take part without presenting the rite as a digital substitute.

A traditional remembrance: the Agni Purana (110.4) describes the spiritual merit associated with a departed person’s remains resting in the waters of the Ganga. We share this as a matter of shraddha and prayer, never as a guaranteed spiritual result.
Practical care for families abroad
This is not a rite to arrange in haste. A little care before dispatch keeps the Asthi Kalash, family names and ceremony time clear for everyone involved.
Do not send the Asthi Kalash until the receiving person and address for your selected arrangement have been confirmed.
One relative keeps the names, schedule and joining details clear for family members living in different countries.
Only the family and ceremony details needed for the Sankalp and coordination are requested.
The rite follows a suitable time in India. Your corresponding joining time is communicated before the ceremony.
The question families ask first. This is the method we have seen work for families sending the Asthi Kalash to us since 2019.
Place the ashes in a sturdy sealed pouch, or a steel or brass kalash with the lid closed tight and taped with waterproof tape.
Wrap the sealed container twice. This is what prevents breakage in transit.
A strong cardboard box or wooden crate, with at least 5 cm of cushioning on every side. Not an envelope and not a soft bag.
Write “Human Ashes — Religious Use” on the outer box. Most couriers require this declaration for customs clearance.
Some countries and couriers ask for a short letter confirming the package holds human cremation ashes for religious purposes and is not biologically hazardous. Ask us and we will send you a template.
Strong packing tape on all edges and seams before dispatch.
Courier, transit time and what each country asks for. Use a tracked service, and send us the tracking number on WhatsApp once the arrangement is confirmed — we watch the delivery and confirm receipt the day it arrives.
USPS Priority Mail International or FedEx. Cremation ashes may be shipped from the USA with the cremation certificate and a personal declaration. 7–14 business days.
Royal Mail International or DHL. Include the death certificate and a letter from the crematorium. 5–10 business days.
DHL or FedEx. The shortest route from Southeast Asia — 5–7 business days from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Our team can speak basic Tamil with families who prefer it.
DHL from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain. 3–7 business days, the fastest of any region we serve. Pricing in AED on request.
Australia Post International or DHL. Australia Post classifies ashes as human remains and requires a permit — the form is available at any outlet. 10–15 business days.
Tell us the city you are sending from and we will confirm the courier and the paperwork before you dispatch anything.

Guidance for families abroad
Every family carries its own tradition. Keep any instruction received from an elder or family priest ready while you compare the tirtha and package.
The Asthi Visarjan itself is performed physically at the sacred river and location named in your package. “Online” means that your family can coordinate the seva from abroad, share the Sankalp details, and join the ceremony via live video conferencing.
Please wait until the receiving person, address and expected arrival have been confirmed for your chosen package. Transport rules differ by country and carrier, so dispatch should begin only after the receiving arrangement is clear.
The packages on this page presently offer Prayagraj at Triveni Sangam, Varanasi in Kashi, Haridwar and Garh Ganga at Garh Mukteshwar. Choose the tirtha remembered in your family tradition, or compare the package scope and location calmly before deciding.
Yes, subject to the confirmed live video conferencing arrangement. It is best to appoint one family coordinator who can keep the names, schedule and joining details clear for everyone.
Asthi Visarjan is a distinct final rite. Pind Daan, Shradh, Tarpan, Brahmin Bhoj, Gau Daan or any other ceremony should be treated as separate unless the selected product page expressly includes it.
Keep the departed person’s name, gotra if known, date of passing or cremation, the Karta’s name, your chosen tirtha and one family contact ready. Share only the details your family knows; any uncertainty can be explained during coordination.
Prayagraj · Varanasi · Haridwar · Garh Ganga
Compare the four available Asthi Visarjan packages, open the place your family prefers, and review its complete scope. The receiving arrangement can then be settled carefully before dispatch.
