What is special about Magha Nakshatra in relation to Shradh?

Magha Nakshatra is ruled by the Pitrus (ancestors) themselves, making it the most directly connected nakshatra to ancestral rites. The deity of Magha Nakshatra is “Pitrigan” — the collective ancestral spirits. When an ancestor passes away while the Moon is transiting through Magha Nakshatra, their soul is believed to have a strong connection with the Pitru Loka.
