For families seeking an affordable and dignified Asthi Visarjan ceremony in Prayagraj, our Silver Seva Package is the ideal choice.

This essential package covers all core rituals at Triveni Sangam with an experienced Pandit, along with a clean homestay accommodation and a private cab for your necessary travel. It is a respectful, straightforward, and budget-friendly solution to honour your loved one without the worry of logistical arrangements.

The final rites of a loved one are not a privilege for the well-off. They are a duty of the heart — one that every family, regardless of income, deserves to fulfil with dignity, care, and proper Vedic tradition. The Silver Seva Package for Asthi Visarjan at Prayagraj is built on this belief.

At Rs. 17,999, this package provides your family with everything that matters: an experienced Brahmin pandit who knows the Garuda Purana rites, a private boat to Triveni Sangam, all puja samagri, private transport, and clean, verified accommodation — so that the final journey of your loved one is conducted with the respect and reverence it deserves.

The ceremony in this package is identical to our Gold and Platinum offerings. The same mantras are chanted. The same Triveni Sangam receives the ashes. The same sacred connection between the living and the departed is honoured. The only difference is in the type of accommodation — a clean, verified homestay rather than a hotel. Everything essential to a proper Asthi Visarjan is present, at a price that makes the journey possible for families who might otherwise struggle to afford it.

Every Family Deserves This Ceremony

In the Vedic tradition, the concept of antyesti — the last rites — is considered one of the most important samskaras, or life rituals. The Garuda Purana describes in detail how a soul depends on these rites being performed correctly for it to move forward with ease. A soul whose ashes are immersed at Triveni Sangam with proper mantras and genuine intent is, according to the scripture, granted liberation from the cycle of rebirth.

This gift is not reserved for families of means. The tradition of performing last rites at a sacred tirtha is as ancient as the river itself, and it has always been accessible to ordinary people. We have designed the Silver Seva Package to make sure that cost is never the reason a family cannot give their loved one this final gift.

The Spiritual Power of Triveni Sangam

Prayagraj is known as Tirtharaj — the king of pilgrimage sites — because of the convergence of three sacred rivers here. The Ganga brings purification, washing away all sin and karma accumulated over a lifetime. The Yamuna brings devotion and grace. The Saraswati, invisible but present, brings the wisdom that guides the soul into the next realm.

The Garuda Purana, which is the foundational scripture for death rites in the Hindu tradition, states that immersion of mortal remains at a rivers’ confluence — especially at Triveni Sangam — releases the soul from all remaining karmic bonds. This is why Asthi Visarjan at Prayagraj carries such enormous spiritual weight: the waters here are understood to be a direct gateway to liberation.

For a full explanation of the scripture and the ritual, we recommend reading our guide: Asthi Visarjan Poojan — All You Need to Know.

What the Silver Package Includes

This package covers everything needed for a proper, complete Asthi Visarjan ceremony conducted at Triveni Sangam.

  • One night in a clean, verified homestay — vetted for cleanliness and safety, with separate rooms for the family
  • Private cab — a dedicated vehicle for your family’s use throughout the stay, covering all transfers
  • Airport and railway station pickup and drop — you are received on arrival and seen off on departure
  • Private boat to Triveni Sangam — your family’s own boat for the ceremony; you are not sharing the boat with strangers
  • Experienced Brahmin pandit — a trained pandit who knows the full Garuda Purana procedure and will guide the ceremony step by step
  • Complete puja samagri — all ritual materials are included: gangajal, sesame seeds (til), flowers, incense, earthen lamps, and everything required for Tarpan and the Shraddha puja
  • Pre-ceremony briefing — the pandit will meet with the family to explain the ritual sequence and record the necessary sankalp details

The Two-Day Programme

Day 1: Arrival and Evening Preparation

Your driver will meet you at the Prayagraj railway station or airport and take you to your homestay. The homestay is clean, private, and comfortable — it gives the family a quiet space to rest and collect themselves after the journey.

In the evening, the pandit will visit to meet the family. This is a calm, private conversation. He will record the gotra and name of the deceased, confirm which rites are to be performed, and explain in simple terms what will happen the following morning. Any questions from family members — about the meaning of the mantras, about what to do during the ceremony, about whether additional rites are needed — can be asked here.

Day 2: The Ceremony at the Sangam

On the morning of the ceremony, the family is taken by private vehicle to the ghat. The pandit accompanies you. Your private boat is waiting, and the ceremony takes place on the water, at the Triveni Sangam.

The ritual follows the procedure set out in the Garuda Purana. It begins with Sankalp — the declaration of intent in the name of the deceased. This is followed by Tarpan, the water offering with sesame seeds, and Pind Daan, the offering of rice balls for the soul’s sustenance on its journey. The Asthi Visarjan itself — the immersion of the ashes into the Sangam — is performed with the final mantras. Flowers and an earthen lamp are offered on the water as the ceremony concludes.

The pandit guides the family through each step. No prior knowledge or experience is needed. The entire ceremony takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

After the ceremony, the family returns to the homestay or a nearby location to freshen up. All departure transfers are handled by our driver at whatever time suits your travel schedule.

The Spiritual Merit Is Identical Across All Packages

This is worth saying plainly, because some families worry about this question before booking: the spiritual merit of the Asthi Visarjan ceremony is not affected by whether you are staying in a 4-star hotel, a 3-star hotel, or a homestay.

The Vedic tradition has never tied the efficacy of a ritual to the cost of the pilgrim’s accommodation. The Garuda Purana is concerned with whether the correct mantras are chanted, whether the sankalp is made with proper intent, and whether the immersion takes place at the right tirtha. All of these conditions are fully met in the Silver package. The soul receiving these rites receives them completely — not partially, not in some diminished form.

Families who have performed the ceremony through our Silver package have described the same profound sense of completion and release as families in any other tier. The river does not ask what hotel you slept in.

Preparing for the Journey

A few simple preparations before you travel will help the ceremony proceed smoothly.

  • Carry the ashes (asthi and phool) in a clean copper or clay container, or wrapped in a clean white cloth. Plastic containers are best avoided.
  • Know the gotra of both the deceased and the person performing the main rites. If you are uncertain of the gotra, contact us before traveling — we will help you identify the correct one.
  • Wear white or off-white clothing throughout both days. Avoid bright or festive colours.
  • Eat a simple, vegetarian meal on the morning of the ceremony. Avoid meat, alcohol, and heavy food that day.
  • All puja samagri is included — do not purchase anything separately.
  • If you are travelling with elderly family members or small children, let us know when booking so we can ensure suitable transport and comfortable boarding arrangements at the ghat.

Can I Combine This With Other Rites?

Yes. Many families choose to perform Pind Daan at Triveni Sangam on the same visit as the Asthi Visarjan, or to add Tripindi Shraddha or Narayan Bali rites for ancestors who require special prayers. If you wish to combine rituals, please mention it when you book. The pandit will allocate the appropriate time and prepare the samagri accordingly. There may be a supplementary charge depending on the specific rites requested.

Other Package Options

If your family would prefer hotel accommodation, we also offer the Gold Seva Package at Rs. 19,999 (3-star hotel, same ceremony) and the Platinum Seva Package at Rs. 27,999 (4-star hotel, premium vehicle). In all three packages, the ritual, the pandit, the private boat, and the sacred Triveni Sangam are exactly the same. The choice of package is a practical decision about travel comfort — it does not affect what the ceremony means or what it accomplishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ritual in the Silver package different from the Gold or Platinum?

No. The ceremony is identical across all three packages. The same mantras from the Garuda Purana are chanted. The same Triveni Sangam receives the ashes. The same experienced pandit conducts the rites. The difference between packages is only in the accommodation type — homestay versus hotel — and the vehicle used for transfers. The spiritual procedure is not affected.

What are the homestays like?

We work with a carefully selected set of homestays in Prayagraj that we have personally verified for cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. Rooms are private, bathrooms are clean and attached or adjacent, and the environment is quiet and appropriate for a family that has come for a solemn purpose. You will have a proper, respectful place to rest. It will not be a luxury hotel, but it will be clean, decent, and secure.

Can the full family — including elderly members and children — come?

Yes, absolutely. All family members are welcome to attend and participate in the ceremony. The boat is private, so there are no strangers present. If elderly members have difficulty with the steps at the ghat or with boat boarding, please let us know and we will make sure appropriate assistance is arranged. Children are welcome — witnessing a loved one’s final rites is considered a meaningful experience in the Vedic tradition, not something to shield children from.

What if we cannot afford any of the packages?

If your family is facing genuine financial hardship and wishes to perform Asthi Visarjan at Prayagraj, please contact us directly. We do our best to find a solution for families who reach out honestly about their situation. No family should be unable to perform last rites for a loved one due to lack of funds.

How far in advance should I book?

For regular dates, booking at least 5-7 days in advance is recommended to ensure the pandit and transport are available. During Pitrupaksha (the 16-day period dedicated to ancestral rites, typically in September or October), demand is extremely high and we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance. On Amavasya (new moon) dates throughout the year, advance booking of 10-15 days is advisable.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life is unpredictable, and we understand that circumstances can change. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to reschedule. We will do our best to accommodate a new date without penalty, especially in cases of family illness or travel disruptions. Our cancellation and rescheduling terms will be communicated clearly at the time of booking.
