What is Haridwar most famous for?

Haridwar is most famous for the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, the Kumbh Mela (held every 12 years), the Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples on the Siwalik Hills, Maya Devi Temple, the holy Ganga river itself, ashrams and yoga centers, and as a Pitru Tirth for Asthi Visarjan and Pind Daan. It is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism.
