What is the ritual procedure for Dashami Shradh at Triveni Sangam?

Answered by Prakhar Porwal ·

At Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj, the Dashami Shradh procedure begins with a sacred boat ride to the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati. The karta takes a dip at the Sangam point, followed by Sankalp (declaration of ritual intent naming the ancestor). Then comes Tarpan — offering water mixed with black sesame seeds, kusha grass tips, and barley while reciting Vedic mantras. Next, Pind Daan is performed — three rice balls are offered facing south. Finally, the Brahmin Bhoj is arranged at the ghat. The complete ceremony takes 2-3 hours.
