As a Non-Resident Indian, it was challenging for me to organize a Pind Daan ceremony from abroad. The Pind Daan Gaya Platinum Package was a godsend! Everything was taken care of, from Pandit Ji’s fees to quality pooja materials, making it easy for me to focus on the spiritual aspect. The experience was deeply fulfilling, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. If you’re an NRI looking to perform Pind Daan in Gaya, this package is the way to go.
महाराज की जय हो। गया में बढ़िया से पिंड दान करवाया। पंडा महाराज का बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद। ॐ शांति।।
Watching the pandit perform the rituals in real-time by the Falgu River, mentioning my father's name... it felt like we were truly there. Immense gratitude to the entire team.
Being in the USA, travelling to India just for Tarpan during Pitru Paksha was becoming very difficult. Prayag Pandits offered a well-coordinated solution.
I was skeptical about performing such a sacred ritual online from Canada. But honouring my parents in Kashi was important. They were very patient and answered all my questions.
Living in Singapore, we felt disconnected from these essential rituals. The live stream option for Tarpan at Prayagraj gave us a profound sense of connection and peace.
It was deeply important for us in Australia that the rituals were performed correctly. The ceremony reflected the authenticity we sought and was performed by a knowledgeable priest.
The Pind Daan at Kashi was handled carefully, with the pandit following every step diligently. Very reassuring.
Arranging Asthi Visarjan from Bhubaneswar seemed complex, but Prayag Pandits made it seamless. The pandit called us before the ceremony to explain every step. Very professional.
During Pitru Paksha, we booked Shradh at Prayagraj. The coordination was flawless - from date selection to the pandit assignment. Our family felt at peace after the ceremony.

Among all the sacred destinations in India where Pind Daan can be performed, Gaya in Bihar stands apart. This is the place where Lord Vishnu’s footprint rests enshrined at the Vishnupad Temple, where the Phalgu River flows through a sacred field that has witnessed Pind Daan ceremonies for more than three thousand years, and where the Mahabharata itself recounts that ancestors receive liberation through the offerings of their descendants. There is a reason that Hindu families who are serious about performing Pind Daan make the journey to Gaya specifically — no other site carries the same scriptural promise of ancestral liberation.
The Platinum Package is our mid-tier comprehensive Pind Daan offering at Gaya, designed for families who want a thorough, unhurried ceremony with experienced guidance, premium samagri, and all the key elements of a complete Gaya Pind Daan — without the additional components included in our premium tier. This package is conducted in person at Gaya over the course of one full day, covering the principal sacred Vedis including the Vishnupad Vedi and the Phalgu River, with an experienced pandit guiding the family through each stage of the ceremony.
Why Families Trust Prayag Pandits
The word “Platinum” in our packaging carries specific meaning. Not all Pind Daan ceremonies are created equal — the quality of the samagri, the experience of the pandit, the number of Vedis covered, the time taken over each offering, and the care given to the sankalpa all vary significantly between basic and premium offerings. Here is what distinguishes the Platinum Package from a standard Gaya Pind Daan:
The quality of the pinda — the rice ball offered to the ancestor — matters. Standard ceremonies may use pre-prepared or quickly assembled materials. In the Platinum Package, all pinda ingredients are prepared fresh on the morning of the ceremony: cooked rice of the appropriate variety, black sesame seeds sourced locally in Gaya, raw honey, pure cow’s milk, barley, kusha grass, and tulsi leaves. The preparation follows the specifications given in the Gaya Mahatmya texts, ensuring that the offering meets the traditional standard for a genuine Gaya Pind Daan.
Your family is assigned a single experienced pandit who stays with you through the entire day. This is not a shared arrangement where the same pandit rushes between multiple families at the same Vedi. Your pandit’s full attention, from the pre-ceremony preparation through the final offerings, is dedicated to your family’s ceremony. This pandit is fluent in the Gaya Kshetra traditions, the specific mantras for each Vedi, and the particular requirements of different ancestral situations. They will explain each step in Hindi and, where needed, in English.
The Gaya Kshetra contains numerous sacred Vedis spread across the town and its surroundings, each associated with specific ancestral benefits. The Platinum Package covers the principal Vedis that the tradition identifies as most essential for a complete Gaya Pind Daan:
Gaya is an active pilgrimage town and navigating it efficiently — particularly during Pitrupaksha when it is crowded — requires local knowledge. The Platinum Package includes a local guide who accompanies your family throughout the day, handling logistics such as ghat access, timing at each Vedi, coordination with the local Vedi priests, and ensuring that your family reaches each location in time for the ceremony. This is not a luxury addition; it is what makes the difference between a smooth, focused ceremonial experience and a stressful day of logistics management.
The Platinum Package includes Brahmin Bhoj — the formal feeding of Brahmins — as part of the package. The Brahmin Bhoj is an essential complement to Pind Daan: while the Pind Daan nourishes the ancestor’s subtle body through the offering of pindas, the Brahmin Bhoj provides physical-world merit through the act of feeding the learned. The Brahmins fed in your ancestor’s name are understood, in the scriptural tradition, to be receiving the food as representatives of the Pitra Devatas themselves. This inclusion elevates the Platinum Package to a complete ancestral ceremony rather than only a Pind Daan offering.
A complete walkthrough of the Pind Daan ceremony from dawn to completion
The day begins before sunrise at the sacred ghat. After the ritual bath, the pandit performs the formal Sankalpa — naming all ancestors and declaring the ceremony’s purpose. This sets the spiritual intention for the entire day.
The first and most powerful Pinda offering at the Vishnupad Temple, directly before Lord Vishnu’s footprint. The pandit recites specific mantras for this Vedi while guiding your family through each step of the offering.
Mid-morning offering at the Phalgu River where Lord Rama performed Pind Daan for King Dasharatha. This is often the most emotionally resonant part of the ceremony — a connection to the deep roots of this tradition.
Pinda offerings at additional key Vedis as recommended by your pandit based on your family’s ancestral requirements. Tarpan water offerings with complete mantra recitation for all ancestors named in the Sankalpa.
Formal feeding of Brahmins in your ancestor’s name, followed by the Vishnupad darshan and the final Uttarkarma rituals. Post-ceremony prasad and documentation provided. The pandit ensures every prescribed step is complete.
Our premium Gaya Pind Daan package (₹35,000) includes additional elements that some families may require but others may not. The premium tier includes Gau Daan — the formal donation of a cow — which is particularly recommended for families dealing with Pitra Dosha or for ancestors who departed in circumstances requiring additional support for crossing the Vaitarni. It also includes broader Vedi coverage across the Gaya Kshetra.
The Platinum Package at ₹15,999 is designed for families who want a thorough, authentic, properly conducted Gaya Pind Daan without the additional Gau Daan component. For the majority of families performing Pind Daan for ancestors who departed in normal circumstances — without specific astrological indicators of Pitra Dosha — the Platinum Package provides everything needed for a complete and powerful ceremony.

To make the most of your Platinum Package ceremony, a few preparations will help ensure the day proceeds smoothly and with full focus on the ceremony itself:
Our qualified pandit has been conducting Pind Daan and Shradh ceremonies across Gaya, Prayagraj, and Varanasi for over 15 years. Trained in the traditional Gaya Kshetra Pind Daan vidhi, he has guided more than 5,000 families — including NRI families from the US, UK, Canada, and Australia — through the complete ancestral rite with care and precision.
Book With Our Pandit
We performed Pind Daan for my father at Gaya through Prayag Pandits. The pandit was extremely knowledgeable and patient — he explained every step in Hindi and English so the whole family could follow along. The samagri was prepared fresh that morning and the entire ceremony felt deeply authentic. Our family experienced a profound sense of peace afterwards. I would strongly recommend their Platinum Package to anyone looking for a genuine Gaya Pind Daan.Gaya’s special significance for Pind Daan comes from multiple scriptural sources. The Vayu Purana, the Agni Purana, and the Vayaviya Samhita of the Shiva Purana all describe Gaya as the place where ancestors receive liberation most easily. The Mahabharata records that the Gaya Kshetra was blessed by Brahma himself with the power to liberate ancestors through the offerings of their descendants. Most significantly, Lord Vishnu’s footprint at Vishnupad carries a direct divine promise of liberation for ancestors offered pindas in this presence — a promise not attached to any other Pind Daan site in quite the same way.
The Pind Daan ceremony is rooted in Hindu Vedic tradition and the mantras invoke Hindu deities and the Pitra Devatas. Typically this ceremony is performed for Hindu ancestors. However, questions of whether non-Hindu family members can benefit from the prayers of their Hindu descendants are best discussed with our pandit at the time of booking — they will advise based on your specific family situation and the tradition’s perspective on this question.
The Vishnupad Temple Pinda offering is included, and your family will have darshan at the temple as part of the day. The actual inner sanctum darshan is conducted according to the temple’s own schedule and rules, which our guide will coordinate for your family. The Vishnupad Vedi darshan is one of the most significant spiritual moments of the entire Gaya Pind Daan, and we ensure this is a central part of your day.
Yes. Our local guide and pandit are experienced in accommodating family members of different physical capacities. Elderly family members can participate in the ceremonies at a comfortable pace. The Vishnupad Vedi and Phalgu River are within manageable distance of each other with the right logistics. Please inform us when booking if you have elderly family members or anyone with mobility considerations so we can plan the day accordingly.
Yes. If after booking the Platinum Package you determine that Gau Daan should be included — based on advice from an astrologer or your own assessment of your family’s ancestral situation — this can be added at an additional cost. Please let us know as early as possible before the ceremony date so that the proper arrangements can be made.
Every ceremony is conducted by experienced, verified Vedic pandits with full transparency and accountability.
